        ChristinaTahoeRimtrails_smSpin Game employees are fortunate enough to be living in the Biggest Little City in the World, a city full of culture and diversity. In Nevada’s early days, men traveled to the Silver State to strike it rich, today Reno is known for its for world-class entertainment, gambling, and its close proximity (45 miles) to Lake Tahoe. This amazing location puts Reno close to 18 ski resorts and 50 golf courses. In the past few years large companies have decided to make Reno their home to take advantage of the state’s desirable tax structure. What do we think is the best part of Reno? The 300 days of sunshine!

        We are dedicated to our community by supporting a variety of programs throughout the Truckee Meadows that focus on arts and culture, education, environment, and health and human services.

        Art in Bloom
        Caughlin Ranch Elementary School’s 6th Annual Art in Bloom Auction is slated to raise $25,000 to provide computer hardware, software and programs to facilitate learning in the 21st Century.

        BEAR League

        The BEAR League is a completely volunteer; community based not-for-profit organization in the Lake Tahoe Basin, Truckee and beyond, committed to keeping bears safe and wild in their natural habitat. Too many bears now believe they can roam neighborhoods and even come into individual homes, as this is what they have been told by humans reacting inappropriately during bear encounters, which often results in the death of a bear. Spin Games is proud to help educate those living in or visiting the beautiful Sierra Nevada.

        Keep Truckee Meadows Beautiful

        Spin Games is? a proud sponsor of KTMB.? Keep Truckee Meadows Beautiful is dedicated to creating a cleaner, more beautiful region through education and active community involvement. The key programs they have used to help its mission are: Adopt-A-Park, Phone Book Recycling, Christmas Tree Recycling, Adopt-A-Spot, an illegal dumping hotline, and Waste Warriors.

        Pony Express Territory Nevada

        From April 1860 to October 1861, dozens of brave Pony Express riders delivered mail between Sacramento, California and St. Joseph, Missouri. The distance was 1,800 miles, and it took Pony Express riders ten days, which was half the time the stagecoach required for the same journey.?Today, Pony Express Territory points of interest include ghost towns, old mines, rock art sites, nature preserves and parks. Pony Express Territory offers excellent hunting, fishing and camping. Nevada adventure sports enthusiast can enjoy wide-open country for mountain bike riding, hiking and climbing.

        Reno Rodeo

        The “Wildest, Richest Rodeo in the West,” the Reno Rodeo is one of the most popular 10’day events in the nation’s “Biggest Little City.” The Reno Rodeo is a PRCA (Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association) sanctioned sporting event. The non-profit organization is made up over 500 volunteers and hosts over 140,000 fans. While the best in the nation compete to an excited crowd, the Reno/Sparks area economy enjoys a $42 million boost going to hotels, casinos, restaurants and retail.

        Tahoe Family Solutions – Camp Explore

        Camp Explore is a special place for children who have completed grades 1st – 5th. It’s an extraordinary environment where children find a nurturing and supporting atmosphere. This allows the child to grow, socialize, exercise, and spend positive time with role models.?Throughout each activity, the campers learn about the delicate environment that surrounds them each day while they develop new physical, emotional, and social skills. In fact, it’s not uncommon for the campers to bring their new appreciation for life back to their home life which, over time, strengthens the entire family.

        Tahoe Rim Trail Challenge

        This annual challenge will take you on an exploration around the Tahoe Rim Trail (TRT) with six featured hikes, each highlighting something to Lake Tahoe. The unique features include: amazing panoramic vistas, alpine lakes and creeks, wildflower-infused meadows, lush waterfalls, timeless geology, rich history and much more! Depending upon the trail and season, you can hike, bike, ride horseback, ski or snowshoe to complete each of the six challenge locations per year. Go at your own pace, on your own schedule. Compete with other teams or just join in the fun and see how many miles you can hike, both short and extended versions of each hike are yours for the choosing. Watch for giveaway days on the trails, which are sponsored by local businesses including Spin Games, Sunshine Tahoe, Squeeze In, KOLO 8 News Now, KPS|3, Coffeebar, NV Energy, REI and many more.

        Trails and Vistas

        A three to four mile art hike every September with dance, poetry, music, storytelling and environmental art. A variety of hikes are offered including those with family and young children, leisure hikes for those looking to go at a slower pace and meditative hikes that enable individuals to hike in silence while enjoying all the event has to offer.

        Truckee’s Annual Historical Haunted Tour

        Designed to tap your senses and satiate your desire for fun, Truckee’s Historical Haunted Tour takes place every October in Historic Downtown Truckee, California. If you’re lucky enough to score tickets for this adults-only sell-out event, you are in for a treat with captivating skits inspired by legends of yore at several featured haunts that are all within walking distance of Moody’s Bistro, Bar and Beats.

        Saddle up to the bar at Moody’s and keep your eyes wide open for the Lady in Red. Deceased at the hands of her husband in The Truckee Hotel, she frequents every now and then and you just might catch a glimpse of her. Small groups of visitors from as far away as the east coast, mid west and Los Angeles and as nearby as Reno, Sacramento and the San Francisco Bay Area will be immersed in engaging tales performed by talented characters at seven interesting historic sites. Skillfully weaving together dramatic, downright haunting and funny stories inspired by times of yore, this Tour will be complete with treats and tricks.
